THE LEGEND OF PHOENIX SEAL
Phoenix Seal was the site of the final battle against the Unknown God; where the resistance forces pulled their factions together and pushed the dark entity and his army back through the door to the Elemental Chaos from whence he came.
It was here that the Dawn Phoenix sacrificed itself to seal the dark master away. It is from this that the dead volcano island takes its name.
Sometimes you can see the seals shining in the moonlight; an affirmation that the twin moon gods helped the Dawn Phoenix in it's sacrificial endeavor and that they mourn the loss of the Phoenix' creative power and love.
A peaceful tribe of Ash Giants reside here in part worship and part mourning; keeping guard over the seals and protecting them from anyone or any faction wishing to break them. Their fated enemies are therefore the Sladds which were stranded here and plot to open the doorway to their vile masters home; starting the war again.
It also was home to the many pirates of the sea who were the only beings willing to reside here. It protected them from the other kingdoms and allowed them to build one of their own. Led by the now legendary Graydon Strongsteel, the terror of the seas and pirate king, they built Phoenix Seal into a bustling port town albeit a pirate haven and den of thieves.
But, in order to solidify his lineage, Strongsteel civilized this wild city best he could and began to build a trade organization that would outlive his pirates and build a power that would overshadow all the surrounding civilizations in power, prestige and gold.
His daughter, the Pirate Queen Barada Strongsteel, solidified the Merchant's Oath (Short for Oath of the Seal) and has, so far, pulled together seven major import/export partners making them the richest, most powerful people in the Shadow of the Dragon.
[NOTE: The Shadow of the Dragon is what they call the seas in this part of the world]
