Raven Beauty Cosplay stops in for a chit chat!
Welcome to another awesome cosplay interview! This week we had the always lovely privilage of talking with Raven Beauty Cosplay! Being a local cosplayer to Tulsa we jumped at the chance to get to know her just a little better. After making everything from a Fem Vegeta to Belle from Beauty and the Beast, she is truely an amazing talent! Enjoy then interveiw and the small gallery below. 1. What was it that drew you to cosplay?
Just the simple idea of dressing up and being whoever you want. I, at first, limited myself to characters that I looked most like and that is so boring. My first major leap was with my Fem Joker and I received so many positive responses, that I continued on cosplaying whoever I wanted. I've been lucky and only received a few negative comments from people, but I will not let that stop me.
2. What would you say is your most memorable convention here in Oklahoma?
Tokyo in Tulsa is my favorite convention I have ever been to! Everything about it has been wonderful. I've met so many people from TnT and have been going (missed a few years in between) since the first one. Plus, it is always around my birthday which makes it extra special. However, it's always so hot and we all know that cosplay and heat do not mix well!
3. What was the hardest costume you have made yet?
I know that sometimes even the easier looking costumes can be a real pain haha My armor for my Fem Vegeta cosplay. Yes, it doesn't seem like it would be hard but it took me months to get it down. Many errors, tears, blood, cussing and screaming. You know, the usual cosplay progress. I'm very proud of myself but do plan on revamping it in the future. 4. What is your favorite local restaurant? On special occasions I like to go to The Cheese Cake Factory. That place is so good it should be illegal.
5. What is your dream car?
A black 1976 Firebird Trans-Am, makes me want to tease my hair and blast KISS down the highway!
6. What are your plans for the rest of the year?
As far as cosplays go I'm currently working on a Fem Jason (Friday the 13th) and plan on wearing that to the Tulsa Comic Expo in May. Other projects include being part of an Alice in Wonderland group cosplay, I will be the caterpillar. Almost complete with my Fem Hades cosplay and very excited to wear my Belle (Beauty and the Beast) dress for the first time. I'm just going to stop there! I overwhelm myself with cosplays but at least I'm not bored. The three conventions I plan on attending this year are Tulsa Comic Expo, Tokyo in Tulsa and Izumicon. Then, just plan on being my nerdy self the rest of the time XD
